BRINGING THE POWER OF HOPE TO YOUR COMMUNITY

1. Sponsor a Creative Facilitation Training for Adults in your community: The Creative Facilitation 1: Express Yourself! training both serves as an organizing tool and a skills building training. Bring together 30 adults from a broad range of community groups youth-serving programs, schools, social service agencies, arts organizations and activist projects and you’ll have the beginnings of a strong organizing team. Cost of trainers: $3,000 plus travel. (We charge $150 per person for the trainings we offer in the Seattle area; participants can often get the fee paid by their school or agency.)

2. Send youth and adults to Power of Hope programs:
The best way to get a feel for Power of Hope’s unique program model is to experience it for yourself. If you live close to the Pacific Northwest, plan to bring youth to a weekend youth conference. In the summer, youth participants and adult volunteers come from all parts of North America. This is the best way to experience the Power of Hope.

3. Request a Consultation with the Power of Hope:
Our program model is based on bringing the right elements together to make things happen. We can work with you to assess the needs and assets present in your community and to create a strategy and a plan to move forward. We can share ideas and lessons learned as you bring together the social capital in your community (adult volunteers and artists) to respond to the aspirations of young people.

4. Sponsor a Power of Hope weekend in your community:
Once you have a group of adults excited about the program, you’re half way there. With an effective outreach plan, an appropriate setting, and with trained and enthusiastic volunteers, you are almost ready to take flight. We have found that highly skilled lead facilitators can make all the difference in a successful first-time learning event. You can contract with the Power of Hope to send an individual or pair of lead facilitators to help set the tone and manage your week-end gathering.
