School-Year Programs
The Power of Hope offers lots of exciting arts-based workshops and programs to youth during the school year! Power of Hope school-year programs are offered in Seattle, WA, and Victoria, B.C.
Want to bring Power of Hope to your youth participants/students?
Our arts workshops are designed to help high school and middle school students develop improved self-awareness, creative expression, communication skills, collaboration, community-awareness, and action-planning.
Power of Hope facilitators partner with teachers, youth workers, counselors, and youth to build a creative, customized program for youth participants. We are very flexible in coming up with unique, innovative programs to serve the vision and needs of our partners and the participants.
Our arts workshops bring youth together to explore themes of creativity, leadership and community. We've had many successful programs in the past and are currently engaged in several current programs in Seattle and the surround areas. Our school-year programs are designed to serve students from 7th to 12th grade.
We strive to create a safe and supportive environment where youth can:
- Build and experience positive community
- Learn different forms of self-expression
- Talk about important topics in their lives
- Explore ways to take action in their community
The art forms we use to explore the above themes are:
- Visual art techniques such as drawing, painting, oil-pastels, mural-making
- Theater Improv and Theater of the Oppressed
- Improvisational Dance and Hip Hop Dance
- Creative Writing
- Spoken Word Poetry
- African Drumming
Our curriculum is creative and customizable. We can bring you a program that's two hours long, or one that stretches across three days. Workshops can be adapted to many different youth populations and organizations. You can get an idea of they types of programs we can create for you by reading about some of our past programs.
School-year programs are currently available in Seattle, Washington, and Victoria, British Columbia. We'd love to talk with you about bringing Power of Hope arts workshops to your youth and students.
