What's on the Hip Hop Hope CD?
So what's on the CD?
Tracks on the Hip Hop Hope CD include both solo pieces done by youth (one per youth), and collaborative vocal and instrumental pieces written/recorded by small groups (as many as you want to be a part of!). The CD will include rhyming Hip-Hop compositions as well as Spoken-Word Poetry with or without musical background.
Through the process we'll address issues, honor our struggles and celebrate our triumphs. These are some of the themes that are often at the core of Hip Hop Hope tracks:
• Standing up for what you believe
• Learning from diversity
• Respect for all people and for all life
• Challenging media-hyped images and ideas about what it means to be a woman or a man in today’s world
• Building community
• Love for the natural world
• Respecting the inner life and going deep
• Working for a just and peaceful world
